Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan is based on a romantic comedy in a small town. In this movie, Ayushmann acts as a homosexual who has to win over the family of his lover (Jitendra Kumar).
Its trailer launched on 20 January and crossed 28 million views till now.

Ayushmann said he had no apprehensions whatsoever when the part came his way. Khuranna said, “This is a perfect time. I have always been a risk-taker. It’s a character I am playing. What’s the qualm or negative side in this?”
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is focusing to make fans see the love story like any other. Ayushman is hoping that this movie will change the perception of homosexuality being “a taboo”. Also, he hopes that this film will change the way of looking at homosexuals in smaller cities and towns.
After three hit movies in 2019, Ayushmann said he will be spending more time with his family apart from his work.
He said, “It’s in every actor’s bucket list to work with Amitabh Bachchan. “He is a legend, a megastar. His contemporaries have retired but he is up-to-date and evolving every day. He is a true inspiration,”.
