SEBI’s monetary penalty
Post Kundra’s arrest. Sebi made a monetary penalty against Viaan Industries limited. This happened after SEBI made an investigation into the trading in the scrip of VIL that took place between September 2013 and December 2015. Later after it was found by The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) that it violated provisions of SEBI. It imposed a penalty of Rs. 3 lakh on Raj Kundra, company Viaan Industries.
IPL Controversy
This controversy also made headlines in 2013 when IPL Spot fixing case emerged. It brought many players, including Rajasthan Royals party owner Raj Kundra. The case reached till Supreme court and Raj along with Srinivasan’s son-in-law (ICC chief0Gurunath Meiyappan were banned from indulging in any cricket-related events.
Controversies of Raj Kundra- Poonam Pandey
This took place in the year 2020. In the month of February when actor/model Poonam Pandey filed a case against Raj Kundra. She filed the case for illegally using her explicit content from her mobile application. The actress said that even the contract ended between both of them, Raj still used her content. Also, she said that when she asked the company to take down her number and content, the actress started receiving calls at odd hours, which was not suitable for her. Other than this, she was even asked to strip. Later the case was taken to Mumbai High court.
Raj Kundra-Shilpa Shetty -NRI Fraud
Again in the year 2020, both Raj and his wife Shilpa Shetty came under the clutches of Khar Police regarding a fraud case. It was an FIR that was registered by an NRI businessman against the couple. According to him both of them cheated him via a gold trading company which they used to run earlier.
Raj Kundra’s connection with Underworld
Earlier in October 2019, Raj Kundra was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection to the case connected to business dealings with a man known as Ranjeet Bindra. And Bindra was the one who was to be a frontman of the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s aide Iqbal Mirchi. According to the information, Kundra indulged in the Spot-fixing on the “Command” of Dawood Ibrahim. Soon after this, he was also summoned by the Enforcement Directorate over business deals.
