This week two big films Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Chhappaak will be seen clashing together on screen, According to the analysis of film trade these two movies cater a very different storyline so, the interesting part is to see that which one collects more

It’s time to see the battle between the two Bollywood films who have locked their horns on theatre this week. On one side is Ajay Devgn and Kajol starrer film ‘Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior’ and on the other side is ‘Deepika Padukone’s film Chhapaak’. The makers of both films are leaving no stone unturned in the promotion and are busy promoting the film. Now is the time to see who can get ahead in the battle.
As the concept of both films is completely different from each other leaving one thing in common that is, the story of both films is based on the real incident. According to the reports currently, Padukone’s Chhappaak is more in the discussion right now, while Tanaji has to work a little more in the promotion. Deepika Padukone’s JNU visit has brought this film more to headlines, which could be a step to benefit Chhapaak. In such a situation, the path of history-based film Tanaji in front of Chhapaak seems a bit strenuous. However, the campaign to boycott Deepika’s Chappaak on Twitter has been going on for two days.

According to several reports, the cost of a Chappaak is around Rs 35-40 crores while Tanaji’s budget is around Rs 150 crores. In such a situation, Tanha Ji will have to make a lot of collections to be a hit and recover the costs. If compared on the basis of cost then Tanaji will have to collect about 4 times more than Chhapaak, only then it will be able to match net profit, as, the film lags behind as compared to “Chhapaak”. However, one thing that will help Tanhaji to increase its collection will be its appearance on 3000 screens, while Chhapaak has received around 1500 screens. Chhapaak is the story of an acid attack victim while Tanaji is a film based on history.
