Russian billionaires are trying to save their property from the sanctions that Western countries have imposed after the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. According to Business Insider, Russian oligarchs are moving yachts and private jets to Dubai and the Maldives, which remain neutral.

Thus, according to The Times, the Madame Gu yacht of the Russian politician and philanthropist Andrei Skoch (Generation Charitable Foundation) stopped in Dubai, and three more yachts owned by Russian billionaires have been there since March 1. In addition, a private plane of businessman Arkady Rotenberg, who had previously fallen under sanctions, also flew there. According to the Marine Traffic channel, which tracks the movement of ships, three more Russian yachts are heading towards the Maldives, which do not have an extradition treaty with the United States, and Montenegro.

In addition, in Dubai, there is a huge demand for luxury real estate from the Russians.

As for Dubai, for those who do not have yachts and planes and are not expected, it becomes simply an unaffordable luxury (although it was not cheap before). Even with Moscow salaries, there is simply nothing to do here – the dirham costs around 40 rubles against 21 rubles back in December last year,

commented in the telegram channel “Antiglanets” .

Earlier, in Germany, due to sanctions , the Dilbar superyacht owned by Alisher Usmanov was arrested , and in France, a yacht, which allegedly belongs to the head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, was arrested. French authorities have said they plan to continue seizing yachts from Russian oligarchs.

Today it also became known that seven Russian billionaires were included in the new UK sanctions list. Among them was Roman Abramovich , despite plans to donate proceeds from the sale of the Chelsea club and support from the Israeli museum Yad Vashem to help Ukraine.
