Now, a paparazzi member shared insights into a recent conversation with the superstar.
Shah Rukh Khan and The Paparazzi
Mumbai-based photographer Varinder Chawla shared an incident involving Shah Rukh Khan after the release of “Pathaan” in 2023. Varinder said, “When Pathaan was released in 2023, my team spotted Shah Rukh Khan and recorded a video of him. However, I felt it was an invasion of his privacy, and SRK seemed visibly upset. I contacted his PR team, informed them about the video, and apologized on behalf of my team for the intrusion.”
Additionally Varinder Chawla told Hindi Rush, “Soon after my call, SRK’s manager called to thank me and said that Shah Rukh wanted to speak to me. I was shocked. It felt surreal to go from chasing his car for a glimpse to receiving a call from him. When we spoke for over five minutes, I realized how deeply he cares for his children, especially his son Aryan Khan. As a parent myself, I understood his pain when people spread negative stories about his children. The actor was quite upset during at that time, but we, the media, did not consider his feelings. Instead, we complained about him not giving us photos and always hiding his face. Actually the truth was that he was mad at the media for what they did to his son.”

The behaviour of media literally disappointed Shahrukh. Since 2021, king Khan has been avoiding the paparazzi and has stopped interacting with the media directly. In 2021, his elder son Aryan Khan was arrested during a cruise in Mumbai on allegations of possessing drugs. Aryan spent 21 days in a Mumbai prison. During that period, the media and photographers hounded Aryan whenever he appeared for hearings. Shah Rukh Khan himself faced intense media scrutiny and was constantly surrounded by reporters whenever he visited his son in prison. This difficult time made Shah Rukh Khan wary of the media, leading him to avoid public interactions and media engagements.
