Producer Ekta Kapoor has received backlash from the Supreme Court for allegedly polluting minds of the the youth. Kapoor goes out to seek judicial help, meanwhile her lawyer has denied all the rumors concerning an arrest warrant issues against her. However, the court has strictly restrained the filmmaker to submit any more pleas, otherwise she will be subjected to pay a cost for each petition.
The SC bench is now hearing the filmmaker’s plea. The plea challenges the allegations put on the latter for supposedly producing misleading and objectionable content against Indian army, thereby hurting the sentiments of the family members. This content was helmed in the web series, titled XXX, available on ALTBalaji.
In the trail court of Begusarai, Bihar, former service officer Shambhu Kumar’s wife has lodged a complaint in lieu of some objectionable scenes associated to the former soldier’s wife.
The honorable bench averred, “Something has to be done. You are polluting the minds of the young generation of this country. It is available to all. OTT (Over The Top) content is available to all. What kind of choice are you providing to the people?….on the contrary you are polluting the minds of youngsters.”
The court has warned the filmmaker stating that, “Every time you travel to this court….we don’t appreciate this. We will put a cost on you for filing such a petition. Mr Rohatgi please convey this to your client. Just because you can afford and hire the services of good lawyers….this court is not for those who have voices. This court works for those who don’t have voices…if these people who have all kinds of facilities, if they cannot get justice then think of the situation of this common man. We have seen the order and we have our reservations.”
While, there has been no closure initiated by the apex court and a local lawyer has been appointed to stay abreast of the case hearings in the Patna high court.
