Moreover, the sequels of some of the most loved shows is also scheduled this year. While there are some fresh series which awaits all. Here is a list of most anticipated OTT shows of the year.
1. Mirzapur 3
Team ‘Mirzapur’ recently wrapped up the shoot and the actors have posted selfie and behind-the-scenes shot reminiscing the moments. Fans are highly awaiting for the release date of the final season of the power-packed series. ‘Mirzapur’ depicts the story of Kaleen Bhaiyya, the Bandit King Of Mirzapur who is in a constant scuffle with the Pandit Brothers, Guddu and Bablu. What started off as a usual skirmish later took shape in a grave battle involving a blend of politics and business.
2. Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein 2
Featuring the brilliant cast of Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shweta Tripathi, Anchal Singh, and Saurabh Shukla, this show has gained love and appreciation within a short span. They have been in anticipation with the arrival of the sequel. Set amidst the town of Onkara, the story revolves around a love triangle between Vikrant played by Tahir, Purva played by Anchal and Shweta Tripathi’s character named Shikha who is one the verge of falling into the dark pit for his love for Vikrant.
3. Made in Heaven 2
The superhit show helmed by Zoya Akhtar has been critically loved by many. According to the reports, the lead actor Sobhita Dhulipala has kicked off with the dubbing sessions of the show. However the release date is yet to be set by the makers but it is certain that the show will be out this year on Amazon Prime. It features the thick and thin faced by two wedding planners who have big aspirations to emerge as the modern duo but faced repercussions revealing many secrets and lies. Bankrolled by Excel Entertainment, the show is a creation of the phenomenal duo Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti and penned by Alankrita Shrivastava.
4. Farzi
The series will be the debut of actor Shahid Kapoor along with south actor Vijay Sethupathi. It will be broadcasted this year on Amazon Prime. It is based on a small-time artist who is done out from his grandfather’s printing press business and seeks a con job which suits his persona. In the process he also faced the filth and high-stakes that the industry demands.
5. Family Man Season 3
A majestic creation by Raj and DK, the show revolves is based on a middle-class family man who is a spy working for the TASC force. The man played by Manoj Bajpayee, Srikant Tiwari is someone who is criticized by his family for not being with them at the moment. The third season will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video this year.
6. Guns & Gulaabs
As the name suggests, the series displays the misfits and follies of the world. ‘Guns & Gulaabs’ is a story which offers a blend of love and innocence set amidst a crime-filled backdrop with a tinge of humor. Created, directed and produced by Raj and DK, ‘Guns & Gulaabs’ is set to star Rajkummar Rao and Dulquer Salmaan in the pivotal roles. 7. Squid Game Season 2
One of the most anticipated show of the year has been Squid Game. The show will appear for its sequel in the upcoming reprised version this year. The teaser has been already launched by the makers on Netflix which showed the release date on in June 2022. The season will feature back Lee Jung-Jae’s character Seong Gi-hun, also identified for Number 456, who will be out for seeking revenge in the next season.
8. You Season 4
One of the highly loved psychological thriller ‘You’ is back on the streaming platform Netflix on February 9. It further announced that the first half of the next season will be out on February 9 and Part 2 will be launched on March 9.
The show is based on the best-selling novel authored by Caroline Kepnes, and is encompassed on the question, “What would you do for love?”. Penn Badgley plays the protagonist role of Joe Goldberg in the show, a psychopath lover. For the Season 4 set in London, Joe is seen in a fresh avatar Professor Jonathan Moore.
