Many internet users neglect to secure their online accounts with strong alphanumeric passwords, a crucial step toward guaranteeing safety, in spite of the alarming rise in online fraud. Users are frequently discouraged by strong passwords since they are difficult to remember due to their complexity.

According to a NordPass analysis, “123456” was the most often used password in four of the five cases over the course of the study, earning it the unfortunate distinction of being the world’s worst password. “Password” held this somewhat unfavorable position at one point.

In collaboration with independent cybersecurity specialists that specialize in looking into security events, a compilation of frequently used passwords for this study was created. The top 25 most used passwords are highlighted in the research and should be avoided for online security. On this list are:

    Rules for safety

-Make sure your password has a minimum of 20 characters, including special symbols, digits, and both uppercase and lowercase letters. Do not use details that are easily found out, such as names, birthdays, or common words.

-Using lengthier passwords may dissuade would-be hackers by discouraging those looking to make quick money.

-Continually assess the security of your passwords. Find weak, stale, or frequently used passwords and strengthen your security by creating strong, unique ones for a more secure online presence.

-Never reuse passwords on several websites. Your other accounts are all at risk if just one of them is hacked.

-To protect your security, avoid giving out your credentials to strangers or sending them via social media sites like Facebook or WhatsApp.
