Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is now the biggest movie of the year. The Atlee movie, which debuted on September 7, has already surpassed $800 million at the global box office. Here are several other Indian films that have joined the exclusive 800 crore club in addition to Jawan.
1. Dangal : Due to its outstanding success at the Chinese box office, the biographical sports drama starring Aamir Khan and directed by Nitesh Tiwari shattered multiple records. The 2016 Christmas release of Dangal, which received positive reviews, made it the highest-grossing non-English international film in China. Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Zaira Wasim, Sanya Malhotra, and Aparshakti Khurana are among the cast members of Dangal. Around 1043 crores have been made by Dangal at the international box office.
2. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion : The magnum epic of SS Rajamouli was a worldwide box office smash. It is a follow-up to the hugely successful film Baahubali: The Beginning, directed by SS Rajamouli, and stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah. The movie surpassed the 800 crore mark at the Indian box office, making history.
3. RRR : RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, is one of India’s highest-grossing films ever, earning over 1236 crore (gross) across all languages. RRR is a fictitious narrative based on the lives of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, two well-known rebels who lived in the pre-independence era in the 1920s. Jr. NTR played Bheem while Ram Charan portrayed Ram. Additionally making history at the 95th Academy Awards was RRR. The award for Best Original Song was won by the song “Naatu Naatu.”
4. KGF : Chapter 2 : The 2022 film KGF Chapter 2 went on to make a staggering amount of 1230 crores at the international box office. The Prashanth Neel-directed period action movie in Kannada was a follow-up to KGF: Chapter 1. The action movie, which starred Yash as Rocky who joins the legendary gold mafia, also starred Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, Achyuth Kumar, and Rao Ramesh.
5. Pathaan : Pathaan made $1,055 million at the international box office and netted $543.09 million in India. Shah Rukh played an exiled RAW agent in the action-thriller film directed by Siddharth Anand. He teams up with ISI agent Rubina Mohsin (Deepika Padukone) to stop Jim (John Abraham), a former RAW agent who intends to strike India with a lethal virus.
6. Secret Superstar : The movie starred Zaira Wasim as the brilliant vocalist Insia and included Aamir Khan in a supporting role. The movie generated seven times as much money in China in its first week alone as it did in India, where its opening weekend gross was just 39.30 crore. At the international box office, Secret Superstar, which cost 15 crore rupees to produce, generated around 965 crore rupees.
