    61-Years Of Doordarshan, Know 6 Most Popular And Unforgettable TV Shows

    In the past few months, there was a lockdown in the country due to Corona virus and during this time the old TV serials was broadcasted on Doordarshan. It also includes Ramayana and Mahabharata, which got a lot of love from the audience. Today, on September 15, Doordarshan Channel has completed its 61 years.

    On the occasion of the completion of 61 years of Doordarshan, we are telling you about those 6 shows of this channel which got a lot of love from the audience, so let’s start…

    Hum Log

    The television show Hum Log on Doordarshan was launched on 7 July 1984, which was well received by the audience. The story of this show was based on the life of a middle class family which shows their struggles and desires. The show was written by Manohar Shyam Joshi while P Kumar Vasudev was its director.

    Buniyaad

    The story of the show Buniyaad, written by Manohar Shyam Joshi was based on the partition in 1947. It was the story of a Punjabi family that begins in Lahore in 1915 and ends in Delhi in 1985. The show featured Alok Nath, Anita Kanwar, Soni Razdan, Kanwaljeet and Goga Kapoor.

    Ramayan

    The show Ramayan, which started in 1987, was well received. Directed by Ramanand Sagar, the show was leaded by actor Arun Govil as Ram while actress Deepika Chikhaliya was in the role of Sita. The show got so much love that the audience started worshiping them as a god. Actor Sunil Lahiri was very much loved in the role of Laxman in the show.

    Mahabharat

    After the Ramayana, BR Chopra’s show Mahabharata started in 1988 and it was also well liked. It featured actors like Nitish Bhardwaj, Mukesh Khanna, Gajendra Chauhan, Pankaj Dheer, Punil Issar and Roopa Ganguly, who were well appreciated.

    Byomkesh Bakshi

    Byomkesh Bakshi was a show that started in the 90s and revolves around a Bengali detective. The show featured actor Rajit Kapoor in the lead role who solved the crime case. The show was directed by Basu Chatterjee.

    Malgudi Days

    Malgudi Days, which started in 1986, had a village called Malgudi and the story of the show revolved around Swami and his friends. It featured short stories which were liked by the audience. The director of the show was Shankar Nag while the writer was RK Narayan.
