    Today from 11th April, the 17th Lok Sabha elections has started. The elections will be held in 7 phases. The last phase will take place on May 19. The result will be out on May 23. Therefore, every citizen of India who is above 18 is eligible to cast a vote to choose their leader. Whether the person is a common man or a celebrity casting a vote is everyone’s right.     He is a citizen of Canada. To let you know, Akshay is a recipient of Honorary Canadian Citizenship. He has got the degree of Honorary Doctorate Law from the “University of Windsor” of Canada. He was also given an Honorary Citizenship of Canada. This is why his name is missing in the Indian voting list.

    Alia Bhatt

    She holds British citizenship because her mother Soni Razdan is a British. Razdan was born in Birmingham, UK, to Gertrude Hoelzer, a German woman, and Narendra Nath Razdan, a Kashmiri Pandit and she don’t have Indian citizenship. Alia before making her Bollywood debut stayed with her mother in Britain.

    Katrina Kaif

    Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong to a Kashmiri father and an English mother. Kaif’s parents divorced when she was a child. She holds British citizenship.

    She was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Her father, Elroy Fernandez, is a Sri Lankan, and her mother, Kim, is of Malaysian descent. Her maternal grandfather is Canadian. She holds a Sri Lankan citizenship.

    Imran Khan

    Imran Khan was born as Imran Pal in Madison, Wisconsin, United States to Anil Pal and Nuzhat Khan. He has an American passport. Hence is an American national.

    Therefore, the reason these Bollywood stars cannot cast a vote in India is they are not Indians and they hold the other nationalities.
