    1. Neeyat (2023)

A female police officer in the lead role is something uncommon in Indian movie, yet it works in Vidya Balan’s Neeyat. The film chronicles the unexplained death of a millionaire at his castle in Scotland and the subsequent hunt for the true culprit. Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Dipannita Sharma, Shehk Arora, Shahana Goswami, Neeraj Kabi, and Amrita Puri are among the film’s talented cast.

    2. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015)

A mystery thriller written by Dibakar Banerjee, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! is based on the well-known fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshi, who was invented by Sharandidu Bandyopadhyay. Along with Swastika Mukherjee, Neeraj Kabi, Anand Tiwari, and Sushant Singh Rajput in the title role. In 1942 Kolkata, the film follows Byomkesh as he attempts to solve a mystery.

    3. Rahasya (2015)

One of the best overlooked mystery thrillers of the past few years is Rahasya. The film, which Manish Gupta wrote and directed, is based on the well-known 2008 Noida double homicide case. The powerful performances of Mita Vashisht, Ashwini Kalsekar, Tisca Chopra, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Kay Kay Menon elevate its taut writing.

    4. Ugly (2014)

In Ugly, Rahul Bhat, Ronit Roy, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Girish Kulkarni showcase some of their most remarkable on-screen roles. There is a strong climax to the movie that will undoubtedly stick in your head for days.

    5. Talaash: The Answer Lies Within (2012)

In Talaash: The Answer Lies Within by Reema Kagti, actor Aamir Khan portrays a police detective attempting to solve a mystery while dealing with a personal tragedy. The performances of Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor form the core of the movie.

    6. Karthik Calling Karthik (2010)

The mystery thriller Karthik Calling Karthik, starring Deepika Padukone and Farhan Akhtar, offers an original idea in which a man begins receiving calls from himself. This incident serves as the focal point of the entire narrative, which also explores themes of loneliness and mental health.

    7. 8×10 Tasveer (2009)

Nargesh Kukunoor is the writer and director of 8×10 Tasveer, which centers on a guy who attempts to discover the reason behind his father’s death by entering a photograph and reliving its events.
