There are several movies that we love watching. But those that top the list are the ones that are based on a unique storyline. So here’s the list of movies that stands apart from the rest of them and are considered as the best films of 2022 according to critics.

    1.Writing with fire

Directed by Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Gosh, this film tops the list of the best stories of 2022, according to the Rotten Tomatoes website. It is a story that shows a world dominated by men, this documentary tells how a group of women break all barriers and glass ceilings by creating a newspaper. Rating: 100%.

    2. Poly Styrene: I am a cliche

The second on the list is another documentary, this time focusing on the figure of Poly Styrene, a pioneer of punk music, in fact, she was the first black woman to have her own rock band. The film not only explores her life through interviews and audiovisual material but also that of her daughter, who lived and suffered what that entailed.Rating: 98%.

    3. Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America

In the 117 minutes of this documentary, the history of racism in the United States is narrated, with interviews, anecdotes, and archive images. It is directed by Emily Kunstler and Sarah Kunstler.Rating: 98%.

    4.Great freedom

This Austrian film by Sebastian Meise is a proper drama. Multi-award-winning and critically acclaimed, the plot revolves around Hans, a homosexual who is imprisoned many times in post-war Germany for his sexual orientation. In prison, he meets Viktor, a convicted murderer with whom he shares a cell.Rating: 98%.

    5. Come from away

The fifth position is for this surprising musical, at least for its history. The 9/11 attacks caused the New York sky to shut down, leaving hundreds of people locked up in the city’s airport. What happened to them? That New Yorkers treated them like their own family.Rating: 98%.

    6. Hellbender

If you’re ver much into horror movies, this should be on your list. Starring Zelda Adams, Hellbender tells how a teenage girl without many friends discovers her family’s connection to witchcraft. Rating: 96%.

    7. 9.X

This film by Ti West is to be scared and grab your partner on the couch. 43 years ago, a group of film buffs stayed on a farm in Texas to film an X movie. But the area is not uninhabited, rather the opposite, which will truncate their plans in a peculiar way. Rating: 96%.

    8. Lingui, the Sacred Bonds

Patriarchal culture is very present in this film set in a village in Chad. Amina is a Muslim woman whose 15-year-old daughter Maria becomes pregnant. Over there abortion is not only prohibited by her religion, but the law also condemns it. How to act to save her daughter is Amina’s biggest concern. Rating: 96%.
