The highly engaging plot of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” multiverse featuring a sci-fi indie universe had nabbed the maximum nominations at the 95th edition of Academy Awards. Some more nominations have been bagged by big-screen movies like “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Avatar: The Way of Water”.

Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan directorial “Everything Everywhere All at Once” etched a phenomenal record of 11 nominations on Tuesday, including nods for Michelle Yeoh and comeback kid Ke Huy Quan, the erstwhile child actor of “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.”

Out in March last year, the A24 film had the most unlikely stance at the Oscars, including lower expectations held by makers, the massive nods had come as a surprising reality for the film makers. Yeoh emerges as the first Asian actor to be ever nominated for best actress.

The 10 movies in the cue of best picture are: “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “The Banshees of Inisherin,” “The Fabelmans,” “Tár,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Avatar: The Way of Water,” “Elvis,” “All Quiet on the Western Front,” “Women Talking” and “Triangle of Sadness.”

On Tuesday, the nominations were made public from the academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater located in Beverly Hills, California, by Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams. Amidst the streaming platforms, last year, the Oscars was reigned by Apple TV+’s CODA which bagged the best picture. While Netflix ended with 27 nominations.
