Director Anurag Kashyap’s daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap, recently got engaged with Shane Gregoire in May during a vacation to Bali and later they took to social media to announce the news.

Aaliyah posted a vlog about most-asked fan questions on her YouTube channel in which she’s answered the engagement and wedding queries. A person in the comment section took a dig and said that Shane is living off Anurag’s money. Aaliyah took no time in responding to it.

The troll wrote, “What does he do for a living? So basically he lives off your dad’s money. Nice.” Reacting to it, Aaliyah wrote back, “He has run his own company since he was 15. He’s been completely financially independent since he was 17. Neither of us take money from our parents. I don’t understand why people like you have so much hatred in your hearts.”

In the vlog, Aaliyah elucidated on Shane’s profession, “He has a company called Rocket Powered Sound, that he’s been running since 15. He started his first business when he was 15 and he is still running it, which is pretty cool.”Shane further added, “That’s been a long time, like seven or eight years now I have been in the business. I really like that but there’s also some other stuff that I do as well.”

In the same clip, Aaliyah mentioned, “I don’t really care if people have hate about us marrying young. I know we are young, but I don’t really care.”

Shane also averred that he doesn’t “see the issue at all” and thinks it is “stupid that people make such a big thing (of this).”
