At the age of 38, Sharmila played 40-year-old Amitabh’s ailing mother in the 1982 film, Desh Premee. While talking about Amitabh, The actor started appearing in a fatherly role quite later. The two stars shared the screen space in the film Viruddh in which they played the role of husband and wife.
