    Afghanistan’s fuel tanker tunnel blast, 19 killed 32 injured

    On Sunday, post the fuel tanker mishap in Afghanistan a local official told that around 19 people have died and 32 injured in north of the Afghan capital Kabul.

    The Salang Tunnel, situated around 80 miles away from the north of Kabul, was incepted in the 1960s to endorse the Soviet invasion. Later it served to be a link between the country’s north and south.

    Saed Himatullah Shamim, Spokesperson, Parwan province said that on Saturday night a tunnel explosion had killed 19 people, which included women and children. While the survivors are still trapped under the rubble which could lead to more casualties.

    Parwan’s health department has reported deaths toll of 14 with 24 which ramped up to 32 injured so far as stated by Dr. Abdullah Afghan a local official. Amongst the dead, there are five women and two children while the men have witnessed severe burns due to which the identification is not possible.

    The Ministry of Public Works spokesperson, Molvi Hamidullah Misbah, said that the engulfing fire was extinguished with due effect and the rescue teams have been working to clear off the tunnel.
