Fighter, the first joint project from Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan, will be released globally on Thursday, one day ahead of Republic Day. Fighter, which is about an elite Indian Air Force (IAF) unit called the Air Dragons, is directed by Siddharth Anand, who also directed Shah Rukh Khan’s hit movie Pathaan last year.
It is not the only one, though, that has pilots with rigorous training regimes and aircraft to fly. These movies, which include some from the Top Gun franchise, have some amazing airborne stunts. They are listed in no particular order.
Pearl Harbor (2001)
Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale, Josh Hartnett, Cuba Gooding Jr., Tom Sizemore, Jon Voight, Colm Feore, and Alec Baldwin star in Michael Bay’s American war picture. A love story set against the backdrop of the attack, its aftermath, and the Doolittle Raid is the main emphasis of this highly fictionalized portrayal of the Japanese forces’ attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
Top Gun (1986)
Tom Cruise plays Lieutenant Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, a teenage naval aviator serving on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, in this Tony Scott-directed film. At Naval Air Station Miramar in San Diego, he and his radar intercept officer, Lieutenant Nick “Goose” Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards), are offered the opportunity to train at the US Navy’s Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun).
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
The movie, which was directed by Joseph Kosinski, is a follow-up to the 1986 picture Top Gun. Tom Cruise is back in the lead role as Maverick, the naval aviator. The characters from the original movie serve as the basis for Top Gun: Maverick. In the narrative, Maverick must face his history while preparing a bunch of fresher Top Gun grads for a perilous mission.
Devotion (2022)
The 2015 book Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice by Adam Makos, which recounts the camaraderie between navy officers Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner during the Korean War, serves as the basis for the biographical war movie. JD Dillard is the director, and Jonathan Majors plays Jesse Brown, while Glen Powell plays Tom Hudner.
Dunkirk (2017)
The Dunkirk evacuation during World military II is portrayed in Christopher Nolan’s epic historical military movie, which he also directed. After a fierce struggle with German forces in the town of Dunkirk during World War II, soldiers from the British Empire, Belgium, and France attempted to flee.
