Famous director Mani Ratnam is currently in the spotlight due to his dream project ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. The story of this film is written by famous writer and poet R. Based on Krishnamurti’s historical novel. Recently, the film team has completed a 50-day marathon schedule. Some of his photos also surfaced on social media. The film stars actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead role. Not only that, she is playing a dual role in the film. This is the first time that Aishwarya will be seen in a double role in a film.
Mani Ratnam’s film is a Rs 500 crore mega budget and multistarrer film. The film will feature several southern actors. It stars Vikram, Kirti, Jayam Ravi, Jayaram and Trisha in the lead roles. Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu and Aishwarya Lakshmi will be seen in supporting roles. The film also stars former beauty queen and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a dual role. In one of these roles, she will be seen with Sarath Kumar.
According to reports, the shooting of the film started on December 11, 2019 in Thailand. The producers filmed there for 40 days. After the completion of the first schedule in January 2020, a second schedule was planned in Tamil Nadu. After completing the filming in Paducheri within 6 days, the producers left for Hyderabad. There the third schedule was completed at Ramoji Film City. Just last month, the producers along with Trisha and 250 other actors shot a special number in Ramoji Film City. According to reports, the next schedule of the film will be shot in Jaipur.
