Many big-budget films in the recent past few time didn’t work well at the box office. Seeing big-budget films tanking at the box office now not only makers but big actors are too taking steps carefully. Akshay Kumar had given an ultimatum for his upcoming film Mission Mangal’s makers to make it in a Rs 50 crore budget. Also, he didn’t take any fees for the film and said he will share the profit if the film does well.

There were clear instructions from him that, despite heavy VFX, multiple locations and an army of artists, the cost of making the making would not exceed Rs 50 crore. Fox Star India, the company which is distributing the film also accepted that Akshay Kumar said so.

Akshay Kumar has learned a lesson from his previous big-budget flops like Blue, Tashan, Chandni Chowk to China, Deewane Hue Pagal, Joker, Action Replay, Patiala House and Brothers. therefore, now Akshay Kumar is rooting every step carefully and decided to share profit rather than taking fees.

Earlier, Akshay also didn’t take fees for his film Airlift and gave a strict directive to make the film in Rs 28 crore and hence it worked. The film earned Rs 251 crore at the box office. Similarly, only Rs 42 crore was spent on the film Special 26 and it earned Rs 100 crore at the box office. Film Rowdy Rathore’s budget was also Rs 45 crore but it earned Rs 206 crore at the box office.

All this shows that Akshay is not only a good actor but also a good businessman. His upcoming film Mission Mangal which is also starring Tapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Kirti Kulhari and Nitya Menon is releasing on August 16, 2019.
