Writer-director Ali Abbas Zafar who earlier directed the films like Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Bharat featuring Salman Khan. Is again ready to thrill the audience. But this time it will not be Salman Khan but someone else. The director has recently collaborated will Bollywood actor Diljit Dosanjh, for the film based on the 1984 Sikh Riots. And according to the reports, the shooting of the film has also been started. Well, it would be interesting to watch his next film as he is always attracted to history and bring an amazing concept for the audience.
Giving details about the film a close source said that “It’s a feature film that Ali is directing for Netflix and he has been shooting for it over the last month on sets as also some real locations in Delhi. While Ali was initially planning to just produce the film, he was completely immersed in the scripting process and as the story took its final shape, he decided to even step in as the film’s director too.,”
About the Film
This yet-untitled film based on Sikh rights will showcase Diljit in a completely different avatar. The film 1984 anti-Sikh riots’ is going to be about the pogroms against Sikhs in India following the assassination of Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards. For those unaware let us inform you that although Diljit collaborated with Ali for the first time. But the interesting thing about him is that he already acted in a Punjabi film, titled Punjab 1984, which was coincidently based on the ’84 riots. And fortunately, the film on the 62nd national film award came out to be the best feature film in Punjabi.
Talking about Ali, these days he is focusing on his web-series, Tandav, which is a political thriller featuring Saif Ali Khan, Sunil Grover and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles. As per the reports he has completed the entire series and now gearing up for the next part.
