Actor Allu Arjun created history when he took home the National Award for Best Actor for the blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. On Thursday, the 69th National Film Awards were announced. Not long after Allu was announced as the Best Actor Award winner, a video of him enjoying the accomplishment with team Pushpa surfaced online.
In the video, a very moved Allu Arjun offered director Sukumar a genuine and sincere hug. The rest of the cast and crew could be seen cheering the actor on. The announcement was observed by the media and the film team, who were also invited.
The first movie in the series, Pushpa: The Rise, was directed by Sukumar. Allu Arjun played Pushparaj, commonly known as Pushpa, a truck driver who gets money by smuggling red sandalwood in the movie, which was released on December 17, 2021. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female protagonist, Srivalli, while Fahadh Faasil was first introduced as the main foe.
