Now he is planning to go to court in this case. According to Nandi, in 2017, he bought the rights to make a film on the life of a slum soccer player Akhilesh Paul.

Nandi Chinni Kumar had planned to write and direct a bilingual film called Slum Soccer on Akhilesh’s life. Akhilesh was born in a township in Nagpur and was addicted to drugs. But he was skilled in football. On the strength of his hard work and passion, he became the captain of the Homeless World Cup in India

Nagraj Manjule claimed to have bought the rights from Akhilesh Paul for Rs 4 lakh. But there is no proof in the document as such. According to Nandi Chinni, “Akhilesh has denied to sold the rights” Nandi claimed that he had registered the story and script with the Telangana Cinema Writers Association on 11 June 2018.
