Director Anubhav Sinha collaborated with four filmmakers to produce anthology based on the COVID-19 pandemic. The film will shed light on each filmmaker’s story.
Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, who made films like ‘ Thappad ‘ and ‘Article 15’. Is now planning to work on the new project. This time he is making an anthology film on Covid-19, which is the most talked-about topic at the moment. Along with Anubhav Sinha, other directors who will be collaborating with him are Hansal Mehta, Sudhir Mishra, Ketan Mehta, and Subhash Kapoor.
Talking to the news agency the filmmaker said that this is an interesting period, however, it would not be appropriate to use this word at the moment. But an incident made me come up with the idea of making a film. He said that I still remember that Sudhir bhai’s driver was found COVID- positive, and was facing bed crises. At that time we did several calls to get him a bed in the hospital. And was unable to get a bed at the hospital. After this incident happened, an idea clicked in my mind to document this.
Anubhav revealed that apart from him other directors will also be collaborating for the film, in which they will put forth some real-life incidents faced by them due to Covid-19. The list includes Sudhir Mishra, Hansal Mehta, Ketan Mehta, and Subhash Kapoor. Anubhav also approached Anurag Kashyap for this. However, he denied it as he is busy with another project. Sinha is making the film under his banner Banaras MediaWorks. The director said the project offered an opportunity for all the filmmakers to team up for a “good collaboration”.The yet-to-be-titled anthology is scheduled to be released in 2021.
