On Sunday, India’s total number of medals passed the 50-mark. In the men’s 1000m steeplechase final, Avinash Sable set a Games record time, while Tajinderpal Singh Toor effectively defended his shot put gold. In the men’s team trap, the third gold was won.

The archery team from India will now try to advance as the competition moves into the knockout rounds. Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee, a women’s doubles table tennis team, will be hoping to qualify for the final and win at least a silver medal.
