Jasprit Bumrah has been named as the captain for the final test against the England and will be breaking a historical record with it too.
BCCI have confirmed the news of Bumrah’s captaincy along with Rishabh Pant who will be the vice captain for the same.
After 35 long years, a fast bowler will finally captain the Indian team. The last time this happened was in March 1987, when Kapil Dev led India to its first World Cup victory.
From July 1 and after 35 long years, BCCI and all Indian fans will witness such historic moments.
KL Rahul was earlier stated as injured and his unavailability for the final Test clash caused team India some harm after knowing that there will be no more opening batsman in the squad.
Problems rise more when skipper Rohit too tested positive on Saturday during the warm-up game against team Leicestershire.
With KL Rahul already being unavailable due to groin injury, and now Rohit being held under isolation, team India will have to change their plans to send suitable opening pair for the last Test match. Rohit now has less time to get to Edgbaston in time for the rescheduled Test against England, which begins on July 1.
