The Bhakshak trailer is finally out. The interesting part is to see Bhumi Pednekar as Vaishali Singh, an investigative journalist. Who saves the abusive girls from the shelter home. The film will stream on Netflix from February 9.

The trailer of the film Bhakshak is out now. It introduces the dark side of a girl’s shelter home, run by Aditya Srivastava, aka Bansi Sahu. The movie is based on real-life events and also features Sanjay Mishra, Sai Tamhankar, and Surya Sharma. In the film Bhumi as a journalist decides to uncover the truth, going against the advice of everyone around her. Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma are supporting the film under the Red Chillies Entertainment banner. Sharing the trailer on Instagram Shah Rukh Khan captioned it, “A story of resilience that needs to be told. Bhakshak, a film inspired by true events, will be released on 9th February, exclusively on Netflix.”

Bhumi Pednekar on playing journalist in Bhakshak
On being asked about her experience the actress told news agency ANI about playing a journalist. She said, “Journalism is a difficult career…it needs a lot of courage to ask the right questions, especially to the people who are in power. To ask questions fearlessly definitely needs a lot of courage… I salute the journalists out there for doing their job with integrity and fearlessness. Have learned a lot by working on this film. I feel honored.”
She continued saying ” It was a big challenge working on Bhakshak as it is based on a sensitive and hard-hitting topic. Bhumi explained that the movie raises important questions that make you think deeply. I hope it starts conversations that bring about positive change. The film focuses on crimes against children and brings attention to the serious issues in connection to this.
