We see many pits around us, the ground or the earth. Sometimes well, sometimes stepwell, sometimes hand pump and sometimes tubewell. You must have seen many deep pits dug by humans or machines, but have you ever come to the question that how deep craters can be dug on the earth. What will happen if excavation is done continuously? Can any deep pit be dug which crosses the earth. Some scientists of the world tried to find out the answer to this question. Let us tell you about this most interesting mystery of the world.

Where was the deepest crater dug on earth

    Kola Superdeep Borehole

The deepest hole on earth was dug in Russia in 1989. It was named Kola Superdeep Borehole. The deepest pit in the world, built by man and machine, was 12262 meters. The temperature reached 180 degrees at that depth due to which borehole digging was stopped. Even further, an oil well was dug in Russia recently, which has a depth of 12376 meters. But this pit is not deep enough to cross the earth. This pit is less than 2% of the distance required to cross the earth. If you want to pierce across the earth, then the distance of 12742 km will have to be decided. While these pits are only 12000 meters.

What was found in the deepest pit of the earth, can we still see it

The layer at the top of the earth is only 70 kilometers deep. The center of our Earth is 6371 kilometers deep and if we can dig any pit to such a depth, then it will take us 1 hour 45 minutes to reach the center of the Earth from the top surface of the Earth. The reality is that modern technology is not yet so advanced that we will ever reach such depth.
