Chris Hemsworth is paying close attention to his health. The 40-year-old Hollywood celebrity is taking every precaution to stave off his danger of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Notably, Hemsworth learned of his chance of developing Alzheimer’s dementia while filming the 2022 docuseries “Limitless” for National Geographic and Disney+.

Hemsworth discussed the adjustments he is making to his lifestyle for greater health in a conversation with Men’s Health.

“I’ve always been pretty consistent with my exercise commitments, but lately I’ve really felt the importance of taking time for yourself without any outside voice or stimulation and making time for stillness,” Hemsworth mentioned in conversation with Men’s Health.

Hemsworth emphasised that he is now concentrating on producing attentive work. He is getting enough sleep and taking regular ice baths for his wellness.

“My weight fluctuates a lot due to differing roles and also my own interests in regards to challenging my body in different ways,” elucidated Hemsworth.

“I’m lifting less frequently than I was and I’m incorporating more cardio and endurance workouts which I much prefer than heavy body-building style sessions,” he added.

Additionally, Hemsworth is eight to ten times more likely to get Alzheimer’s disease since his DNA carries two copies of the APOE4 gene. Due to a copy of the gene from both parents, his condition places him in the 2% to 3% of the world’s population who are vulnerable in a similar way.

    A Brief: Alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disorder that gradually impairs a person’s memory and mental capacity. Eventually, those who have it find it difficult to do even the simplest chores.

The illness affects many brain regions, which results in the breakdown of synapses between nerve cells. Notably, nerve cells aid in the transmission of signals from the brain to the body’s muscles and organs.
