AR Rahman who is an Oscar and Grammy-winning Indian composer is uniting with lyricist Prasoon Joshi to give a musical tribute to the nation’s fight against COVID-19. The song’s title is “Hum haar Nahi Maanenge”.

The concept of this song is to spread hope, positivity and motivation. The song reminds people to stay together and get out of this critical situation together. The lyrics of song are penned by Prasoon Joshi and composed by AR Rahman.

AR Rahman says: “This song has brought all of us together for a noble cause and we hope it inspires the nation to come together too.”

Prasoon says: “Though this is not the most ideal of circumstances for creativity but as artists, we have to break through adversity and catch the finger of hope. My poem is centered around the thought of the un-putdownable spirit of us humans. We have much to learn, but together we will surmount the odds, we won’t give up.”

This song features a group of musicians from all over India. The featured artists include famous names such as Clinton Cerejo, Mohit Chauhan, Harshdeep Kaur, Mika Singh, Jonita Gandhi, Neeti Mohan, Javed Ali, Sid Sriram, Shruti Haasan, Shashaa Tirupati, Khatija Rahman, and Abhay Jodhpurkar. India’s percussionist Sivamani, sitarist Asad Khan and bass prodigy Mohini Dey are also part of the project. The song is released today by HDFC Bank.
