    A billion hearts break on Sunday as a strong Australian women’s cricket team defeated India to win gold in cricket T20 event at Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. Australia again demonstrated why they are one the best teams ever in international cricket. Australia women’s cricket team are the defending T20 World Cup victors, present One-Day-Internationals World Cup champions, and present Gold Medalist in Commonwealth Games.

    For India, tonight was all about handling pressure in vital moments. India was moving toward their target however Australian bowlers took some quick wickets in the death overs to break India’s momentum, after which they couldn’t make a comeback Harmanpret Kaur-led India completed their CWG 2022 campaign with a silver medal victory in the Cricket T20 event. 

    Batting first, Australia scored 161/8 in the final played at Edgbaston ground on Sunday. In reply, the Indian team could only score 152 runs in 19.3 overs. India lost the gold award match by only 9 runs.

    Right when it appeared that India would easily chase the target, they went under pressure because of quick wickets. India needed to score 17 runs in the last two overs with four wickets remaining to win the gold medal, however, the team could only score 152 runs in 19.3 overs. Australia took the last five Indian wickets within 13 runs. Spinner Ashleigh Gardner was the pick of Australian bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 16 runs.
