The Prime Video web series, Dahaad, helmed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi, will be the first ever feature which will compete at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2023. The web series stars Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah in lead roles. The series have bee shortlisted to be a part of the Berlinale Series Competition. The drama series has been backed by Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Reema and Ritesh Sidhwani.
The crime drama series has been filmed in a small town in Rajasthan, it revolves around sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati (Sonakshi) and her colleagues working at the local police station. They tale on a case which seems to be suicide but later turns out to be an act by a serial killer.
It is segregated into eight parts however only two episodes will be out for screening at the festival. The series has been featured on the Hollywood magazine Deadline which will be one of the seven productions to compete for the awards. The international jury includes the panelist-actor André Holland, producer Danna Stern, and screenwriter Mette Heeno. The winner will be announced on February 22, 2023.
