After the hunger strike started the Delhi Police has closed Tikri, Dhansa borders in order to avoid any mishappenings as the farmers began their day-long ‘relay’ hunger strike on a chilly Monday morning.

As per the recent news, it is being told that the farmers started their hunger strike at all sites of Delhi’s borders with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. And therefore it has now been closed by Delhi Police just to avoid any further happenings. Taking to Twitter on Monday, the traffic police said that the Singhu, Auchandi, Piau Maniyari, and Mangesh borders will be closed. Therefore people can take alternative routes through the Lampur, Safiabad Saboli, and Singhu School Toll-Tax borders.

Also, the traffic by the Delhi Police has been diverted from Mukarba and the GTK Road. The people are suggested to avoid Outer Ring Rd, GTK road, and National Highway number 44. Giving information on the same one of the traffic police members also took to his Twitter account and wrote “Tikri Dhansaborders are closed for any traffic movement. Jhatikara border is open only for two-wheelers and pedestrian movement,” Chilla border one carriageway from Delhi to Noida is open for traffic, however, another carriageway from Noida to Delhi is closed,”

Well, it seems that the agitating farmers will continue with their protest to demand the repeal of the three agriculture laws. It is a law that has been enacted in September and was a major reform in the agriculture sector. The law focused on removing middlemen and allow farmers to sell anywhere in the country. But the new law has not gone down well with the farmers. As they think that it will pave the way for eliminating the safety cushion of Minimum Support Price leaving them at the mercy of big corporates. However, the center is claiming that these mechanisms will be there. And just to clarify this on Sunday the central government has invited farmer leaders for a fresh round of talks to end the agitation.
