Chief Minister of Indian capital Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal on Friday stated the importance of sports in the universities of Delhi and the advantages one can reap from it.
Arvind Kejriwal stated that the Sport University will give an upper hand to sportspersons when it comes to applying for a job, considering if they have to work.
The priority issues of money, facilities, and politics have been the concern to put such advantageous purpose for the sportspersons.
The Delhi Sports University will provide degrees for the sportspersons, such as BA in Cricket, BA in Kabaadi, and many others. It is a great move by CM Kejriwal to assist the players with developing in the mindset of the players who quit their sports talent to earn money for the family
According to PTI, sixty players were given financial assistance of ₹9.5 crores under Mission Excellence Scheme.
“At the Delhi Sports University, players will be provided degrees in their respective sports such as BA in Kabbadi, BA in Wrestling and BA in Cricket among others. This will help them get jobs in case they want to work,” Kejriwal said. {via PTI}
“Through the Mission Excellence scheme, sportspersons are being given financial assistance. We have improved sports facilities and there is no political interference in selection of players for the schemes here.”
