According to the recent reports, it is being told that the ancestral homes of late actor Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar who is currently 98 will turn into a museum soon.

Peshawar is the capital and the biggest city of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan’s north-west, and it is also widely known as the city of flowers. But not everyone knows that it is also the home to some legends of Indian arts and films, titans such as Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar. Both the houses lie in the heart of Peshawar. The Raj Kapoor haveli is in the Ander Shehar area of Peshawar. While Dilip Kumar’s house is in the famed Qissa Khwani bazaar. For those unaware let us inform you that these two legendary actors were born and raised in these homes prior to India’s partition.

Now as per the latest news the ancestral homes of legendary Bollywood actors Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor in Pakistan’s Peshawar will soon be turned into museums by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Archeological Department. The news surfaced after the provincial government approved the release of Rs 2.35 crore for the purchases of the two residences. The report says that Kumar’s four marla house has been set at Rs 80.69 lakh, whereas the price of Kapoor’s six marla house has been set for Rs 1.50 crore,

Currently, the haveli is owned by Haji Muhammad Israr, a wealthy jeweler in the city. However, Israr wanted to demolish the building and construct a new commercial building at this prime location. But the houses had been declared a national heritage in 2014. As per the information now the provincial government released Rs 2 crore for the purchase of these buildings. Both the ancestral houses of these legendary actors will now be converted into museums by the Archeological Department. Because KP’s Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has formally approved the proposal.
