Disha Vakani departed ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ over six years ago. Daya Ben, the actress who played the character in the sitcom, supported by Asit Modi, was a beloved figure on the programme. And her return to the programme has long been demanded by fans.
Asit Modi, the show’s producer, made a big statement regarding Disha’s return to the programme after ‘TMKOC’ successfully celebrated 15 years on Indian television.
He had reportedly verified, “In this journey of 15 years, a hearty congratulations to all of them. One such artist is whom we cannot forget. That artist is Daya Bhabhi aka Disha Vakani. She has entertained the fans and also made us laugh for all these years. Fans have been waiting for her to come back and I promise you all that Disha Vakani will soon be back to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.”
Furthermore, he previously told a news website that he was also sick of responding to questions and begged people not to ask them, adding that as the producer, he was responsible for responding to them. “Even today, I wish that our original Daya Bhabhi aka Disha Vakani comes back. Disha is like my sister. She wants to spend time with her family. She has two kids. If she does not want to come back, I cannot force her,” he had mentioned.
For the past 15 years, “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” has been a success. Other actors who have left “TMKOC” in the past besides Disha Vakani include Neha Mehta, Raj Anadkat, Shailesh Lodha, Bhavya Gandhi, and Nidhi Bhanushali.
