A lot has been written on the Internet about the tragic death of Divya Bharti, but no one still knows for certain what actually happened to the actress. In the early 1990s, she was considered one of the most promising actresses in Bollywood and was able to achieve dizzying success before her life was brutally cut short by a strange incident. She died at the age of 19, having fallen from the fifth floor of her apartment. In Bollywood, many are convinced that she was thrown from the balcony.
Even after three decades, theories continue to be built around Divya’s death. Did someone really throw her off? According to official documents related to the case, at the time of the incident with her, there were three people in the apartment: the designer Nita Lulla, Nita’s husband, Dr. Shyam (a psychiatrist) and her maid Amrita. According to the documents, Divya’s maid was close to her from birth and after her death fell into acute depression and stopped contacting people. Amrita suffered a severe heart attack and died a month after Divya’s death.

    Dark night

    Date: April 5, 1993, 23:00
Location: 5th Floor, Tulsi Residential Complex, Western Mumbai

Just a few hours ago, Divya returned from a meeting with a realtor. She wanted to buy an apartment for her parents and finally managed to find a suitable 4-room apartment. Considering how hard it was to get a good apartment in Mumbai, Divya was very happy that day and called her beloved brother Kunal several times, describing the apartment and rejoicing at the good deal.

She had just returned from Chennai after filming and was due to fly to Hyderabad that same night for another shoot. But she postponed the visit because she decided to complete the deal on the purchase of housing. On that day, Divya walked with a bandage on her left leg and informed the producer. that she was injured (and, therefore, will not be able to show up for the shooting). She said she would be arriving in Hyderabad a day later.

Soon she received a call and was told that she should meet with Nita Lulla and her husband and that they would be arriving soon. It is pertinent to mention that the apartment where Divya was located does not belong to her, and the apartment itself was registered in someone else’s name. Divya was soon to go to shoot in Mauritius, and Nita was the film’s designer. After filming in the upcoming project, Divya had to move to a new, now her own apartment. The girl was very excited that evening.

Nita and Shyam arrived around 10 pm and sat in the living room. There were 2 bottles of alcohol on the table: sugarcane wine and Black Label whiskey . The maid Amrita soon left for the kitchen to prepare a snack. Nita and her husband turned on the VCR and watched something, while Divya was talking from the living room with Amrita, who was in the kitchen.

It is worth noting that there was no balcony in the living room, but a large ajar window. There was a parking lot downstairs, but there were no cars parked there that evening. For what reasons Divya decided to climb out the window is unknown. She slipped, losing her balance, and fell on her back from the fifth floor directly onto the concrete floor. On the way to the hospital, the girl was still alive. She died in intensive care. The immediate cause of death was severe internal bleeding due to an injury to the back of her head (she had several fractures of the base of the skull).

The police did not find an answer to the question: what made Divyu go down to the ledge outside the window? Interestingly, many of her close friends were not surprised to learn that she climbed out of the window. Her relatives claimed that Divya loved to do stunts. According to eyewitnesses, on the set, she often did dangerous stunts and she liked to play with death. The last such trick cost her her life.

    Myths about Divya Bharti

Myth 1: Divya Bharti made her debut with Sunny Deol

Reality: Divya Bharati dropped out of school when she was in 9th grade to make her debut in Bollywood, but she could not manage to get the role. Her parents begged many producers to take on the lead role of their daughter, but they were refused everywhere. Divya then traveled to the South, where she finally got the opportunity to play alongside Telugu superstar Venkatesh in the film Bobbili Raja . The film was directed by Venkatesh’s father, D. Ramanaidu. The movie has become a big super hit. Divya began her career in 1988, but until 1992 she was unable to act in Bollywood films. By then, she had become a huge star in Tollywood.

Myth 2: Divya started her Bollywood career with a hit.

Reality: Divya Bharti’s first Bollywood film , Vishwatma / Three Angry Men 2 , ran pretty averagely , and her second failed miserably at the box office, but it managed to catch massive media attention. Even in the face of such big setbacks, Divya remained optimistic and soon became a successful actress in the industry. Her first success was a film paired with Govinda “Shola Aur Shabnam” / Dew and Flame .

Myth 3: Divya’s last few unfinished films have been flops.

Reality: Some of the films Divya Bharti signed but couldn’t finish became hits. For example, the film “Mohra” / Pawn (which was signed after Divya by Ravina Tandon, paired with Akshay Kumar) and “Vijaypath” / The guy with sunglasses (Tabu and Ajay Devgan).

There are even some videos on the internet with scenes from the movie Laadlaa / Darling , along with Divya Bharti. She starred in them a few months before her death. These scenes were later re-filmed with Sridevi. In this video, you will see Divya and Sridevi in one scene after another. I think most of you have never seen this footage before.

Myth 4: On the day of her death, Divya Bharti was alone in her apartment.

Reality: On the day of her death, she canceled her trip to Hyderabad because she wanted to stay in Mumbai for one more day. She was happy because she bought an apartment for her parents. In the last moments of her life, she was at home with her close friend, fashion designer Nita Lulla, her husband and maid.

The case on Divya Bharti’s death has now been closed. The police were never able to complete the investigation.
