India lost 2 wickets in the rain-session as the newly paired opening duo were sent off by James Anderson which also claimed his 100th Test wicket against team India in England.
Followed by the second innings in which heightened pacer Matty Potts took the charge to bowl a terrific delivery to Virat Kohli to which the inside edge forced Kohli’s bad luck to continue, along with Shreyas Iyer who got out by James Anderson. Hanuma Vihari too fell prey for Matty Potts.
After losing 5 wickets Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant kept their foot static on the England soil and after Stokes allowed Leach to settle in, Rishabh Pant started doing what he is best at – haunting the spinners.
Rishabh Pant fired like he was still playing T20 and completed his 50 against team England.
The tea break has been announced after India is at 174 for 5, after playing 44 overs.
The only Test left to play in Birmingham is live and in action as Ben Stokes, skipper of team England won the toss to allow the visitors to bat first.
Team England will start by bowling first and the decision seems tactical enough to catch the attention that team India has not experienced a good time South Africa Test series and the abroad conditions have been not played much past these months and the home side will be looking to take advantage to it.
Team India leads the ongoing series since 2021, with 2-1 and the home side has a potential opportunity to equal the series and snatch away the historical win for the Asian side as well as Bumrah’s maiden win as a captain.
