Famous Bollywood actor Sunny Deol also jumps in the politics. He joins the Bhartiya Janta Party today. As per reports, the 62 years old Gadar actor is likely to be contested the elections from Punjab’s Gurdaspur seat.
Earlier, last week, Sunny Deol had met BJP president Amit Shah and today he joins the party in the presence of Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Sunny Deol, after joining BJP said, “PM Modi has done a lot for the country and I wish that he remains the prime minister for another five years. Our youth needs people like Modiji.”
The actor added that as his father was a BJP follower, he wants to continue the same. “The way my Papa worked with and supported Atal ji, I am here today to work with and support Modi ji. My work will do the talking”, Sunny Deol said.
To let you know, legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra, father of Sunny Deol, had represented the BJP and contested the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from Rajasthan’s Bikaner. He won the elections there. Not only that, Sunny Deol’s step-mother and veteran actress Hema Malini represents Mathura for the BJP and has been active in politics.
