On Sunday, Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 31st year in Bollywood. In 1992, he marked his acting debut in Deewana, starring opposite the late actor Divya Bharti. To commemorate the event, he hosted an Ask SRK session on Twitter, where his fans submitted some amusing and heartfelt inquiries for their beloved actor.
Shah Rukh wrote on Twitter, “Wow just realised it’s 31 yrs to the day when Deewana hit the screens. It’s been quite a ride mostly a good one. Thanks all and we can do 31minutes of #AskSRK ??” A person wrote, “One thing which you will never forget from Deewana’s Set?” Shah Rukh responded, “Working with Divyaji and Rajji.” Someone asked, “Sir how do you feel when you watch this epic entry of yourself. It’s been 31 years and it still gives us chills.” He said, “Should have worn a helmet.”
When a person asked ‘which is the proudest achievement you had in these 31 years?’ Shah Rukh said, “Being able to entertain lots of people lots of times. That’s it.” A person also added, “You have been always an inspiration sir, any motivational lines from you for the rest of the year sir.” The actor averred, “Focus hard on work….love family even harder!”
A person further asked Shah Rukh, “Sath me cigarette pine chaloge kya (let’s go smoke a cigarette together) @iamsrk sir ???” He replied, “Main apni buri aadatein akele hi karta hoon (I indulge in my bad habits by myself)!”
A person also requested him to do a film like Swades. “After so many successful years in Bollywood and after doing almost every sort of role, now, while picking a movie, do you look at it’s commercial aspect or you would also like to do some roles/movies which you may have not done before, or may b more Like Swadesh,” said a tweet. Shah Rukh further said, “I now try and do the kind of film the particular director wants to do….not only what I see myself as.”
After a four-year absence, Shah Rukh made his eagerly anticipated return in January of this year with Siddharth Anand’s hugely successful action-thriller Pathaan. Next up for Shah Rukh is the upcoming action thriller Jawan, which is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 7.
The movie, directed by South Indian filmmaker Atlee, also features Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in the key parts. The movie is said to have a lot of intense action scenes. The action movie was made by Shah Rukh’s production firm, Red Chillies Entertainment.
He will also star opposite Taapsee Pannu in Dunki, the upcoming film from Rajkumar Hirani. Dunki has yet to see its formal release.
