The 20th annual ranking of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women was released by Forbes today. The list features powerful female politicians, celebrities, philanthropists, policymakers, and CEOs who are changing the world.
For the second year in a row, Ursula von der Leyen, 65, President of the European Commission, is at the top of the list.
Christine Lagarde, the 67-year-old president of the European Central Bank, comes in second place.
The 59-year-old vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris, held the third rank.
Giorgia Meloni, the 46-year-old prime minister of Italy, took fourth place.
American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, 33, comes in at number five, the first time an entertainer has ever appeared in the top five on the list.
Ranking 32nd in 2023 is Nirmala Sitharaman, an important member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and India’s Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs since 2019.
Forbes regularly lists Indian millionaire and philanthropist Roshni Nadar Malhotra, the chairperson of HCL Technologies, among the world’s most powerful women. She has been ranked 55th in 2020, 60th in 2023, and 54th in 2019.
Currently serving as the Steel Authority of India’s Chairperson is Soma Mondal. Her position on the list is 70th.
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, a well-known Indian millionaire entrepreneur, is seventy years old. In the Forbes List of Powerful Women 2023, she is ranked 76th.
