Whenever we visit to another country we are always excited to know the local cuisine which is one of the most enjoyable ways to explore its culture. After all, it is interesting to try the most popular dishes of the country, But sometimes we come across the places that are “strange”. And serve the dishes in an unusual manner. So listed below are restaurants that will impress even true travel gourmets. From dinning with the dead to the nest on trees. We have mentioned you the strangest and most unusual dining establishments in the world.

    Lunch at the nest, Thailand.

The Soneva Kiri Eco Resort in Thailand has the Bird’s Nest restaurant, which gives you a unique opportunity to enjoy stunning views because this restaurant is located in a tree. It “hangs” in the air at a height of 4.8 m, and the waiters use ropes to deliver food and drinks to the tables of visitors. A regular lunch costs about $450 here, but it’s probably worth it.

    Monkey waitresses, Japan.

If you go to the Kayabukiya Tavern in Utsunomiya City, your food will be brought to you by a monkey dressed as a waitress. Otsuka, the owner of the restaurant, says he didn’t specifically train the monkeys in this craft but they supposedly learned everything by themselves when they looked at him. Today, local authorities have officially allowed the monkeys to work in this establishment.

    Lunch at the hospital, Taiwan.

This restaurant named DS music is located in Taipei, but don’t let the name fool you – music has nothing to do with it. It’s actually a rather odd hospital-themed restaurant where waitresses are dressed as nurses, tables are made out of hospital beds, and drinks are served in syringes. And how can we forget the walls that are covered with x-rays.

    Nudist lunch, USA.

Once a month, the Clothing Optional Dinners club in Manhattan, New York, hosts a rather odd “naked” party. It was founded by nudist John J. Ordover. The event has several rules, one of them is that you must bring something with you that you can put on a chair (for example, a towel), and the attendants must be dressed.

    Dinner with the dead, India.

This is a restaurant on the site of an old cemetery, Krishan Kuti from India decided to keep the graves. What seemed like a strange decision later turned into a clever move. Every day the restaurant is filled with people who want to experience the unique eerie sensation of eating among the dead.

    Cannibalistic sushi, restaurant Japan.

You might have thought that Indian restaurant with the dead was the weirdest? But this one will change your mind when you visit this cannibalistic sushi restaurant in Japan. Here you will be taken out on a trolley edible “body”. Then you must “dig deep” and taste the insides of a person. Of course, this is not a real person, but just a skillfully made copy of rice and other ingredients of Japanese cuisine. The body is made of sushi, the blood is the sauce, but the genitals had to be replaced with artificial “inedible” copies.

    Medieval tavern, Czech Republic.

If you want to know how the mediaeval people dined in the 15th century, there is a great medieval restaurant in Prague. It resembles a traditional tavern from the Middle Ages with wooden tables, benches, and pottery; the tavern offers a unique dining experience. If you can’t decide what to try from the medieval menu, waiters in period costumes will be happy to help you.

    Dinner under the microscope.

What started a few years ago as a joke made Chef Hironori Ikeno famous all over Japan, and possibly the whole world. One day he thought it would be fun to serve miniature food on tiny plates and wondered how far he could go. It turned out that it is quite possible to make sushi from one grain of rice. Today, tourists from all over the world flock to this small Tokyo restaurant to experience Mr. Ikeno’s miniature culinary delights.

    Penis Buffet, China.

Guo Li Zhuang is a restaurant specializing in dishes made from the genitals of various male animals. There is a huge variety of species to choose from horse, bull, donkey, dog, deer, goat, ram, or even snakes. And if you’re a pervert foodie, you can try a combination of pig eggs with goat penis, chicken eggs with horse penis, and so on. Although it sounds weird but that’s true.

    Lunch on a rock, China.

There is a hanging restaurant Fangweng, in the Happy Valley of Xining Gorge in the Chinese province of Hubei, which also offers, in addition to food, stunning views from the cliff on which it is located. It is worth noting that due to its unusual location, this place is not for the faint of heart.
