Social media again bashed Bollywood, this time for solid and valid reasons. To let you know, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bollywood actors and filmmakers had a meeting recently in Raj Bhavan, Mumbai to discuss issues regarding the film industry. People from Bollywood who became the part of this meet were reportedly Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Ritesh Sidhwani, Karan Johar, Rakesh Roshan, Ronnie Screwwala, Prasoon Joshi etc.

However, it became the topic of discussions in no time after Prime Minister himself tweeted a photo taken from the meet,

Had an extensive and fruitful interaction with a delegation from the film and entertainment industry.

The delegation spoke about the strides being made by the film and entertainment industry, and gave valuable inputs relating to GST for their sector. https://t.co/ulQMtxTJQj pic.twitter.com/n4Dn38EJLr

This meeting received a flak from social media users. It is because no female celebrity was included in the meeting. Now, when gender equality wave is picking up momentum, this particular meeting faced criticism. Not only social media users but some celebrities also criticized the meeting including Dia Mirza, she tweeted,

This is wonderful! Is there a reason why there were no women in this room? @akshaykumar https://t.co/oO9teT3Gyi

She says gender equality can only be achieved if women must be part of all conversations. In her another tweet, she said,

“How can an entire industry be represented only by men.”

Well, nobody from the people who were the part of the meeting has responded to her tweet yet. But they are receiving a flak from social media users for not including women in the conversation.
