Genelia Deshmukh was asked in a recent conversation that whether people still ask her whether Riteish Deshmukh, her husband has not allowed her to work in films posts marriage. She shared that it was solely her decision to not act in films and take a break. Genelia was last seen in Marathi movie titled Ved which was declared a hit.
Genelia and Riteish acted together in Tujhe Meri Kasam and then got married in February 2012. They are blessed with two sons, Riaan Deshmukh and Rahyl Deshmukh.
Riteish and Genelia were then seen in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, Masti and Mister Mummy, and most recently in Ved.
Genelia revealed in a talk with Bollywood Bubble, “I am sure. People say what they want to say but the truth of the matter is that I decided. Till date.. like people say ‘Why don’t you do so much more work?’ I don’t feel I can do so much work but I feel I still enjoy that whole part of being with my kids.”
She further added, “I want to do that. I want to do this.. I’ll choose when I want to do what. And the good part is that I no more look for validation like I have to be part of this banner. I have to be part of a story that impressed me the day I read it.”
Genelia will be next seen in Aleya Sen’s Trial Period with Manav Kaul. The movie also stars Shakti Kapoor, Gajraj Rao, Sheeba Chadda, and Zidane Braz. It is will be available on Jio Cinema on July 21.
