Yes, it is indeed a good news for Indians. You will get a bit relief after knowing that Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman who was captured by Pakistan on February 27, 2019, probably get released tomorrow.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has declared that Abhinandan will be released tomorrow as a “gesture of peace”. He made this declaration while speaking at the country’s parliament. Imran Khan said that,
“Yesterday I tried to call (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi to say that we don’t want escalation. Our push for de-escalation doesn’t mean we are afraid. We have an Indian pilot. As a peace gesture, we will release him tomorrow.”
To let you know, in retaliation to Pulwama terror attack in which India lost its more than 45 CRPF Jawans, India launched Air strike. The Indian Airforce jet fighters dropped 1000 kg of bombs to destroy terror camps of Jaish-e-Mohammad, Hizbul Mujahedin and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
To this strike, Pakistan hit back with its three jet fighters and entered the Indian boundary. While Indian Air Force’s planes were resisting them one of the fighter planes shot down. It drifted towards Pakistan border and got crashed. Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman survived in the crash but got captured by the Pakistan Army.
Before his capture, he shot down two Pakistani pilots and hit an F-16 jet, said the government. After this India demanded an immediate release of the pilot as per the Geneva Convention. Due to United Nations and international media’s pressure now Pakistan is finally releasing him as per declared by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.
