The Guns & Gulaabs trailer was released on Wednesday, and it seems to be a web series set in the hinterland wherein cops and gangsters are at loggerheads. It stars Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, and Gulshan Devaiah in key parts. The Gulaabganj-based crime thriller, which is set in a fictional city, was created by Raj & DK. The teaser features just enough retro nostalgia to set it apart from other Indian OTT crime dramas.
The trailer presents the main characters of the show; however, despite the fact that all of them appear to be fairly aggressive, the use of tunes from classic Hindi films significantly lessens the impact. Additionally, late actor Satish Kaushik is featured in the series. In this instance, he assumes the father figure of Adarsh Gourav.
The Family Man and Farzi, two well-liked online series produced by Raj & DK, appear to take place in the 1980s.
In a previous conversation with PTI, Rajkummar Rao discussed working with the director team and stated, “They are phenomenal. The quirk and humour they have is so unconventional. Nobody writes and presents a story the way they do it. I have known them before Stree and when they told me about Guns & Gulaabs, I was fascinated.” He further added, “I was expecting something similar, wacky, and out of the box from them. I got such a big playground to play as an actor, there was so much to explore.”
On August 18, Guns & Gulaabs makes its Netflix debut.
