The second batch of hostage releases has been postponed until Israel agrees to permit relief trucks to enter northern Gaza, according to a statement made on Saturday by the armed branch of the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas.

The hostage releases would be postponed, according to Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades, if Israel does not follow the requirements set forth for the release of Palestinian detainees.

As stipulated in the agreement, Israel has permitted 200 trucks to enter the Strip; earlier, the Israeli military liaison to the Palestinians, COGAT, reported that 50 of the vehicles had entered northern Gaza.

Senior Hamas official Taher al-Nono said to Al Jazeera earlier today that Israel had broken agreements when it came to the release of Palestinian detainees, whose release Hamas had advocated for in a different order than what Israel actually did.

The second set of hostages has started to be turned over to Red Cross, a Hamas source told AFP moments ago.

“The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades have begun handing the second group of Israeli prisoners over to the Red Cross in [the southern city of] Khan Yunis. There are 14 of them,” the source added.
