    High Alert In Mumbai: Cyclone Nisarga Can Hit The Coastal Areas

    On Wednesday, June 3, a cyclone is likely to hit the coastal areas of Maharashtra. The Meteorological Department has put Mumbai and surrounding districts on high alert. NDRF team has deployed teams on the Palghar coastal areas.

    On Monday, the Indian Meteorological Department warned that there is less pressure on the Arabian Sea. And it could take a cyclone form in the next 36 hours. Regarding the preparations home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over video conferencing. The Meteorological Department said that by the evening of June 3, Cyclone Nisarga can hit the coastal areas of North Maharashtra and South Gujarat.

    It is likely to hit the coastline on Wednesday, between Harihareshwar in Raigad district. Which is in the south of Mumbai. Nisarga would be associated with wind speeds in the range of 95-105 km per hour. Meteorological Department said- a deep cyclone is forming in the East Central Arabian Sea. And will turn into a severe storm and will cross Maharashtra in the afternoon. An alert has been announced in the coastal areas of North Maharashtra and South Gujarat. 

    The effect of nature has started showing in Goa. Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds was noticed in the capital Panaji. 

    NDRF Director General SN Pradhan said that Nisarg is a terrible cyclone. And is expected to blow at speeds of 90-100 kmph. Pradhan said that he along with his team are working to evacuate people from the coastal areas of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
