On Wednesday, The Lahore High Court curbed all the police operations to arrest the erstwhile Prime Minister of Pakistan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan by 10 am tomorrow at Zaman Park, as stated by the news agency Dawn.

This update arrives after the scuffle between the PTI supporters and other law enforcement bodies who protested to back the former PM outside his residence.

PTI workers celebrated outside Zaman Park as law enforcement agencies pulled back. As per police, the court-ordered operation halted to accommodate Pakistan Super League matches, reported Dawn.

“Police will not advance on Khan’s residence until the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 cricket match is over,” sources quoted police official’s statement.

A clip fleeted on the internet shared by the PTI Twitter account, after police’s withdrawal Imran Khan came out of his residence, in a mask, and paid a visit to the workers.

LHC’s Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh while addressing the petition filed by PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry to stop “atrocities” outside Zaman Park, sanctioned these orders.

Earlier, the court had summoned the Punjab inspector general, chief secretary and Islamabad police (operations) in court by 3 pm, reported Dawn.

Earlier today, despite the efforts and tackling array of protests, the police could not arrest PTI Chairman Imran Khan, thereafter a massive chunk of Punjab Rangers reached at the former prime minister’s Zaman Park residence to execute the court orders. Thereafter the police also sprayed tear gas in the effort to disperse the PTI workers.
