Indian veteran player and current coach of IPL franchisee Lucknow Super Giants Gautam Gambhir was against the fact of giving some rest to senior players for the South African series.

South Africa has arrived in India for the T20I series which might be considered a critical series keeping in fact that the T20 World Cup is not far away.

Gautam Gambir in the commentary section took the opportunity to raise his call on BCCI giving rest to senior players.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were among the most senior players who have not experienced a good season at the IPL and needed to come back to their prime forms.

Gautam Gambir in the commentary said that the senior players should have played and if players like Virat and Rohit have to come back into form, they need to seize such opportunities of playing some more international T20 games.

India had an unlucky exit from the previous T20 World Cup and Australia will be aimed for much higher hopes than the UAE’s failure.
